Walkie Story ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Location data — We access your device's GPS location while the app is in use to find Wikipedia articles nearby. We do not store or share your location data.
- Account information — When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose.
- Comments — Any comments you post within the app are stored and associated with your display name.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core experience: finding and displaying nearby stories based on your location.
- To display your display name next to your comments and activity.
- To maintain your account and authenticate you securely.
3. Data Storage
Your account data and comments are stored securely using Supabase, hosted on servers in the European Union. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
- Wikipedia API — Used to fetch articles near your location. No personal data is sent to Wikipedia.
- Anthropic API — Used to generate article summaries. Only article content (no personal data) is sent.
- Supabase — Used for authentication and data storage.
5. User-Generated Content
Comments you post are visible to other users of the app. You can delete your own comments at any time from within the app. Other users may report comments that violate our guidelines.
